Savings is an important aspect of your relationship with money. You may earn a lot of money, but if you don't have a strong money mindset, you may not actually save any of it. You may spend everything that you earn and potentially even have debt around that, too. For that reason, saving is a good indication of the strength of your relationship with money.
I want you to keep in mind that we all have what's called a mind-body connection around savings. What this means is that you currently have certain beliefs around savings and you also have certain feelings and emotions about savings.
A good way to find out what those feelings and beliefs are is by answering a few quick questions:Â
One of the questions I get a lot from people as a coach is around whether or not people have a good money mindset. Many people think that if they can resonate with concepts like âabundanceâ then it means they have a good money mindset. And while abundance is a great thing to focus on, that doesn't necessarily mean that you've got a great mindset around money.
Whenever I'm talking about money, I really like to get into the specifics. When Iâm coaching my clients, we don't focus on concepts like abundance. Instead, we get down to the nitty-gritty of it and actually talk about the different types of money.
Today want to give you a quick intro into six types of money that I actually focus on.
Later this week I will go into each of these types of money in more detail.
The first type of money is savings. Can you save money? Have you ever been able to save money? And how do you feel when you think about saving money?
The idea of savings might make you feel really good if you have a ...
In my previous article, I explained the importance of celebrating your progress to conquer your inner critic, especially if you feel like nothing you do is good enough or worth celebrating.
If you tend to be critical of yourself, itâs highly likely that youâll encounter some resistance once you start celebrating small milestones (like⌠seriously⌠who would actually do a victory dance???)
Watch the video above to discover how you can dramatically improve your results and feel amazing at the same time by celebrating your progress.
Youâll see how to quickly disarm any resistance or scepticism by using a simple technique to neutralise negative beliefs around deserving to be recognised and celebrated.
Â
The technique I demonstrated in the video is called Tapping and you can use it to develop the habit of celebrating your progress.
All you have to do is watch & follow along as I tap gently on a series of acupressure points with two fingers, and then repeat the words after me.
Once yo...
When youâre working towards a major goal, do you celebrate your progress along the way? Many people think that celebrating your progress is a waste of time because the only thing worth celebrating is reaching the final milestone.
Actually the opposite is true â recognising small wins motivates you to keep going and inspires you to put in your best effort.
If youâve conditioned yourself to feel unenthusiastic about completing tasks, this could be your inner critic at play. What feels like indifference on the surface can actually be a form of self-sabotage.
Watch the video above to discover how you can get to your end goal more quickly by celebrating your progress.
The idea of celebrating gradual progress is so simple and therefore is often overlooked. To achieve your goals in the most direct way with genuine excitement and enthusiasm, itâs important that you recognise and celebrate smaller milestones as you progress towards a bigger goal.
I used to feel quite strong about only a...
Would you like to know one of the best ways to stay on target when youâre chipping away at a long-term goal? Motivating yourself is similar to taking a shower â it doesnât last so you have to keep doing it every day!
Successful people donât actually wait to feel motivated or inspired, they take action anyway, and the motivation follows. Accountability works the same way by keeping you on track with the use of mutually agreed deadlines.
When youâre pursuing a side hustle on your own, it can easy to put things off and kick the can down the road. However youâll be amazed at how far youâll go (even if it takes the occasional all-nighter) to complete things when youâre accountable to someone else.
Watch the video above to discover how you can use accountability to stay on track with your goals.
To stay on track and motivated, you need to make sure youâve chosen a meaningful goal(s) by asking yourself:
Do you ever put off important tasks and attend to urgent or more interesting tasks instead? If you struggle with procrastination, itâs a sign there are self-limiting beliefs and emotions in your nervous system that get triggered when challenging tasks surface.
In Albert E.N Grayâs 1940 masterpiece, The Common Denominator of Success, he said the secret behind every person who has ever been successful lies in the fact that âthey formed the habit of doing things that failures donât like to doâ.
There will always be things we donât enjoy doing, but if these tasks bring you closer toward your goal, learning how to overcome procrastination and becoming a master action taker will put you ahead of the game.
Watch the video above to learn how to interrupt the pattern and beat procrastination permanently.
There are several reasons why we procrastinate:
Do you ever feel overwhelmed because you have too many things to do?
Feeling overwhelmed is physically and mentally draining because we trigger a mind-body reaction called the Stress Response. This can cause a number of different reactions â we can fight the situation, avoid the problem or feel completely paralysed.
Thereâs a little trick I learned from one of my mentors that neutralises the bodyâs stress response and it will calm you down within minutes when youâre feeling overwhelmed.
Watch the video at the top of the page to find out what this trick isâŚ
The tool I demonstrate in the video is called Tapping (or the Emotional Freedom Technique). Itâs an excellent tool for reducing stress, especially when youâre overwhelmed.
What is Tapping?
Tapping is an acupressure-based mind-body tool thatâs clinically proven to shut down and neutralise the stress response (also known as the fight or flight response).
You can witness the stress response in people who get suddenly triggered ...
Have you ever had a major turning point in your life?
I had a major turning point just before my 30th birthday. The thing with turning points is that you usually donât see them coming until they hit you in the face.
In my late 20âs, I was cruising along thinking that everything was going well in my life. I had a great job as a Commercial Manager for Australiaâs largest media company, my catering business was doing well and I also had a fun side hustle singing in a pop girl group on weekends.
I was working really hard and I was the person who could get anything done. The problem was, playing the role of Superwoman came at a cost. My job was becoming really demanding and I was under an enormous amount of pressure at work. This is how I felt most days: Â
I hit rock bottom one night when I was driving home from work. After working 13-hour days for many months straight, a crash was inevitable. Exhaustion became the norm; there was barely any time in my schedule for friends or family a...
So Iâm finally back in Sydney after my Thailand travels (actually I also squeezed in a couple of other short trips to Queensland, Australia).
In my previous email, I promised Iâd share some of the insights I picked up at the Thailand Internet Business Workshop. It was an unforgettable trip and I even got interviewed by the local TV station, Pattaya People â check it out:
During all the time I spent recently on planes and in airport lounges, I thought about what I could share first to give you the edge now. After spending 8 days with a world class line-up of speakers and experts, I managed to narrow down all the insights to a few key gems. I learned HEAPS of cutting edge strategies for marketing your business online including:
So it's been a little while since I published a new blog post. Things have been really hectic over the last few months.
Hereâs what happenedâŚ
About eight weeks ago, I walked out of the Sydney office of my high paying corporate job with a cardboard box in my hands. I headed down to my car space for the very last time not worried about the future or how I was going to pay the bills. I had my online coaching business all set up and I was ready to embark on the next chapter as a full-time entrepreneur.
Leaving my corporate job was a huge milestone for me - it's something I wanted to do for a really long time and I worked out how to make it happen. Travel is also one of my hot buttons and I decided to mark the occasion with two trips. The first stop was a relaxing wind-down on the Gold Coast followed by a trip to Thailand to attend an 8-day long Internet Business Workshop (Yes - 8 days!).
One of the highlights of these trips was realising that I'm now really living the laptop lifestyl...
