Last week someone on my email list threatened to report me for false advertising. Yikes! š³
A few years ago, I would have totally panicked about a comment like that⦠but instead, I couldnāt wait to tell Eric and we had a big laugh about it!
Wanna know what I said that triggered someone into sending me hate mail?Ā
Well, it was an email about a client result that sounded too good to be true, so someone decided it couldnāt possibly be true.Ā
Hereās what I sent:

Big money can be a funny thing - we can love it or hate it.Ā
When youāre in $100k of debt, like I was, the thought of $100k can make you feel sick because all you see is your debt.
Toni felt the same way too a year ago.Ā
When she first joined my program, she was in $100k of debt and she hated thinking about money and opening her bills.Ā
As youāve probably heard, Toni was able to totally shift her energy around money and six months later, her debt was gone!Ā
Now, thatās an amazing outcome and T...

Paying back $100k of long-term consumer debt in 9 months is something Iām incredibly proud of. ā£ā£ā£
Not just because of the hard work and the strategies it required, but because I had to search deep within myself and completely shift my relationship with money.ā£ā£ā£
ā£ā£See, a few years ago, I was presenting an illusion of success to the world.ā£ā£ā£
ā£ā£ā£I had a high-paying finance job with a major media company and a couple of side hustles⦠but I was also hiding a huge secret - I was in $100k of consumer debt. ā£ā£ā£
ā£ā£ā£Even though I was earning good money and I could pay my bills, I found myself stuck on a financial rollercoaster where I would make great money and watch it all go out the door. ā£ā£ā£
ā£ā£ā£I hardly saved anything and getting a deposit together for a property seemed like a distant dream. ā£ā£ā£
ā£ā£ā£I also desperately wanted to grow my coaching business and leave my 9 to 5, but I felt like an imposter. ā£ā£ā£
ā£ā£ā£Here I was - a coach and a professional in the finance industry and yet ...
Ā
āIāve been in this business now for 46 years and every now and then I run across someone who I recognise⦠theyāve just got something special. Caroline Labour is such a personā.Ā
Thatās what the legendary Bob Proctor said about me in the video above.Ā
If you don't know Bob, he was one of the main teachers in The Secret.
This endorsement means the world to me because it represents so much more than just a glowing review from one of my mentors who happens to be famous (although I'm pretty chuffed with that too!).
Did I ever tell you how it came about?Ā
It all started 18 years ago when I first read one of Bobās books. Back then, I had big dreams but even bigger money mindset blocks that kept making me stumble.
I remember wishing one day I'd be successful enough to meet Bob and hire one of his coaches.
Because of my backward thinking, that dream stayed out of my reach and Bob gradually faded from my mind.
Fast forward almost ten years when I was feeling disillusioned with life......

The first time I felt shame about money was when I was 4 years old, and it happened somewhere totally unexpected.
I used to have a friend at school who got free snacks because her Mum volunteered at the school canteen and weād often go together and get something tasty. One day, I went without my friend and asked for a strawberry frozen yoghurt (my favourite) and her Mum told me Iād have to start paying for my food.
I hadnāt known, of course, that sheād been paying for those āfreeā snacks behind the scenes all along. What I did know was that I stood there, 4 years old, suddenly aware that I needed money and deeply humiliated by not having any.
I started looking around at the other kids and comparing myself. The rich kids had money for the canteen and Reebok shoes. Their parents were doctors or lawyers. I wasnāt like them. The shame I felt stopped me from telling my parents about what had happened and though I didnāt realise it at the time, the intensity ended up shaping my relatio...
Food or exercise? Which do you think matters most when you're trying to get in shape?Ā
Before you answer, let me share a personal story about what I'm celebrating this week... I'm feeling stoked because for the first time in months, I can fit into my skinny jeans!
I don't talk about weight and body image much because people usually roll their eyes when I do. They say things like "you're skinny, you have nothing to worry about" or "what do you know about putting on weight?".
But as any woman knows - and I'm sure a lot of guys do too - body image is such a personal thing. It's not the numbers on the scale that matter, it's how you see yourself.
When you look in the mirror, you don't just see your physical reflection. You see what you already believe about yourself - which is often shaped by your life experiences.
When I was younger, I struggled with my weight a lot. I went from being a super skinny kid to filling out in my early teens and staying chubby for years. It's only after hi...
The other day I replaced a cartridge in a high-end water purifier.
It was meant to take 5 minutes⦠but it took me over an hour (and after a couple of tantrums, I finally asked someone to help me!)
Was there something wrong with the filter? Nope.
Did I follow the instructions incorrectly? Not this time (although that has happened before!).
The problem was, I hadnāt used this particular water purifier in several years. This caused the filter cartridge to get over-saturated and it created a tight seal inside the unit. So separating the filter cartridge from the lid required a mammoth effort.
At first I felt annoyed because the advertised '5 minute filter change' had failed by miles. But of course I accepted it was my fault, and because of one thing - neglect.
It's actually a story I see playing out all the time in the mindset space.
Most business owners believe their mindset is fine because they read 'Think And Grow Rich' ten years ago. So they go about spending all their funds on mark...

Is Manifestation a real thing or is it just luck?
There seems to be two schools of thought on manifestation.
Those who swear by it - and those who think its spiritual fluff.
As a money mindset coach, people assume I'm in the first camp.
But I agree with both perspectives.
You see, the problem is that people who claim to 'manifest' things, tend to only say that when good things happen.
They have no explanation for the times things don't work out.
And they usually can't teach the process to anyone.
This is what I call Magical Manifesting - basically nothing more than wishing and hoping.
Like the time I printed out the picture of the $1M cheque from The Secret and stuck it up on my wall... and nothing happened.
I felt like an idiot for doing it but I didn't give up on the concept of manifestation.
Why?
Because lots of big things have come to me over the years that seemed like more than random coincidences.
Things like the prestigious business scholarship I got at the end o...
One of the questions I get asked a lot is: Does the law of attraction really work?Ā
While it may sound like a mysteriousĀ or āwoo wooā concept, the truth is that the law of attraction is actually always working.
The problem is that most people are using it to attract what they donāt wantā¦
And they donāt realise theyāre doing it.Ā
Ā
You Donāt Attract What You WantĀ
Many people think that by saying, āI want to make a million dollars this year,ā and writing that up on a poster and sticking it on their wall, that means Law of Attraction will bring it to them.Ā
Hereās the hard truth about the law of attraction:Ā
You donāt attract what you want.Ā
You attract more of the vibration that you already have.Ā
Read on to find out what that means.Ā
Ā
Everything in The Universe Is Made of Energy
To understand the Law of Attraction fully, we need to also understand the related Law of Vibration. The Law of Vibration states that all things that vibrate on the same energy frequency, get attr...
Toxic money is money that comes to you with negative energy attached to it. In exchange for receiving toxic money, we pay a heavy emotional price. Worse still, it often prevents you from earning your own money.Ā
Ā
Different Types of Toxic Money
Toxic money comes from a wide variety of negative circumstances such as lawsuits, settlements, inheritance, child support, compensations, etc.Ā
It could be money you feel entitled to, or money you feel cheated out of.Ā
It could be money you feel you need to survive, but canāt comfortably depend on. Or, it could be money that you had to fight a huge battle to get.
Regardless of how it comes in, all toxic money comes with a negative emotional charge.Ā
Ā
Toxic Money Poisons Your Money EnergyĀ
Your money energy sets the course of all your experiences with money.Ā
When you encounter toxic money, negative energy creeps into your life and poisons all your money energy. This can block your ability to bring in other healthy forms of money into ...
Theyāve been with you since childhood. They feel like a part of who you are. But self-limiting beliefs hurt you and stop you from achieving your goals. So why is it so hard to get rid of them?Ā
Ā
Thatās Not Just How You AreĀ
We all know the person who says, āWell, thatās just how I am.ā You may want to help them grow and improve, but they refuse. In their minds, theyāve never going to change - thatās just how they are.Ā
Actually, theyāre half right.Ā
Yes, they are how they are in that moment because of programming thatās taken place through time, experience and habit. But that programming wasnāt pre-determined, and it isnāt permanent.
The reason that a lot of people hold themselves back from achieving their goals is because they are repeating the only habits theyāve ever known. This familiarity feels safe, and thatās why even destructive, limiting beliefs can feel so comfortable.Ā
